Proof That Culture Makes All the Difference: KW Heritage Named One of SA’s Best Places to Work

Though many old-school business models may swear by a pure-and-simple “keep your nose to the grindstone” philosophy, we can’t help but notice: companies with a strong sense of healthy workplace culture and identity churn out better performance (like, way better) AND have more fun.

When it comes to the workplace, engaged workers stay longer, work harder, experience improved job satisfaction, and report better overall health!

As a company known for trailblazing a strong company culture, Keller Williams has been recognized on both the national and local level for its commitment to employee satisfaction. Case and point: Keller Williams Realty, Inc was named by Forbes as the country’s #1 “Happiest Places to Work in 2018, and Keller Williams San Antonio branch KW Heritage was named one of “San Antonio ’s 2018 Best Places to Work”!

This local list, compiled annually by the San Antonio Business Journal, annually recognizes 75 San Antonio (and surrounding area) employers based on employee responses to an independent evaluation by Quantum research.

To score each employer, Quantum surveyed employees concerning topics such as trust in managers, compensation, fairness, camaraderie, and workplace traits linked to innovation.

We are proud to announce that, out of 44 small employers, KW Heritage was ranked as #6! But just what makes the difference? We’ve identified just a few of the things KW Heritage employees appreciate about the place they spend their days.

Community Involvement + Philanthropy

From golf tournaments to margarita pour-offs and community clean-up days, Keller Williams has always placed a high emphasis on generous (and creative) community involvement. Focusing on local causes and charities, this level of local engagement lends itself to employees who feel more connected to both their neighborhood and their workplace.

Ethics + Integrity

According to a study by Stanford Business, 92% of Keller Williams employees use the word “ethical” to describe the overall company culture, and 87% believe very strongly that the company “does the right thing.” As a client-based business, this trait is invaluable. If from start to finish, both agents and employees lead with an ethics-first approach, Keller Williams becomes not only a reliable company, but also one that can be trusted.

Feels Like Family

One of the top reasons why employees love working for Keller Williams? The “family-like culture”. By displaying a willingness to help in a time of need, authentic care for workers, and investment into the personal success of its associates, KW Heritage “functions like a family.” Craig Owen, President and CEO, Keller Williams Heritage, summed it up perfectly: “Our team is composed of highly intelligent individuals who demonstrate genuine care for our each other as well as the associates in our office, have a passion to serve others, and ultimately make our culture what it is. Our commitment to putting people first starts with these employees and extends from there to our agents, our clients, and the communities in which we work.”

Strong Teamwork

It may be on every high school motivational poster, but that doesn’t make it any less true: teamwork makes the dream work. Embodying the Keller Williams Culture, employees at KW Heritage are guided by the simple belief that “when we work as a team, we all achieve more.” As such, the company hires attitude, one that is consistent with the KW belief system, and trains for skill.

Embracing Diversity

Home to a dynamic mix of people from diverse backgrounds (with a network of more than 180,000 associates across 940+ locations worldwide), Keller Williams invites each employee to bring their unique experiences to the company. From retired engineers and lawyers to ambitious recent college grads, every KW associate is passionate about their work and all are united by their dedication to delivering world-class service to each and every client.

“Our employees carry out the goals of the brokerage and KW company as a whole every single day, always providing the highest levels of service and creating lasting connections with our associates,” says Kim Bridgeforth, Director of Operations, KW Heritage. “As a whole, we are all committed to maintaining a great place to work, providing each other with the resources, support, and environment that they need to thrive.”
