Red Day: KW San Antonio Agents Prepare to Give Back to SA

Hundreds of agents and staff members associated with KW San Antonio will be out in the local community Thursday, May 11. While it’s common to see real estate agents out and about selling real estate, on this day they will be participating in RED Day- Keller Williams’ annual day of service.

First celebrated in 2009, RED Day is just another example of Keller Williams’ commitment to each other and to the cities and towns where they live and work. Standing for Renew, Energize and Donate, RED Day has become an annual event within the Keller Williams organization. Stemming from Keller Williams’ strong core value of year-round commitment to improve local communities, thousands of Keller Williams real estate professionals and other volunteers in the United States and Canada will spend the day out of their offices and away from clients in order to serve worthy organizations and philanthropic efforts in their communities. Nationwide, Keller Williams associates will rebuild houses, while others will clean up parks, lakes, and rivers. Other projects associates will participate in may include collecting food for food banks, hosting blood drives and donating their time and services at various shelters.

Nearly six years ago, RED Day began as a way to honor the birthday of influential KW vice-chairman of the board, and former president and CEO, Mo Anderson. Recognized as continuously cultivating the KW value system, Anderson has inspired countless associates throughout the US and Canada to "maintain high standards of character within both their personal and professional lives." Since the first RED DAY, Keller Williams associates have donated almost a half million hours of community service. In the past, Keller Williams San Antonio offices have volunteered at Morgan’s Wonderland, the Ronald McDonald House, the San Antonio Food Bank, and the South Texas Children’s Home, among others.

This year, hundreds of associates from several Keller Williams San Antonio offices are expected to participate in RED Day. In addition to assisting Haven for Hope they will be hosting a blood drive in conjunction with the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center, volunteering at San Antonio Pets Alive (SAPA), lending their time to Edgewood ISD Family Services Center and Loma Park Elementary School, and planting a garden in honor of Rowan Windham.
