My interest in real estate began many years ago with rehabbing older homes, staging, landscaping, and then reselling them. I am very hands-on by nature and was always the one doing the actual labor for most projects so have an appreciation for the work involved, and a great eye for space design and utilization. I discovered I had a knack for staging, landscaping, photography, and writing up the descriptions to sell these homes fast. My husband and I bought many homes over the years and this “hobby” became one of my passions so becoming a real estate agent was an easy decision for me when I decided to change careers. This experience has given me a solid perspective of being both the buyer and seller many times myself and I can easily relate to my clients. Before deciding to change my career focus to only real estate, I was a Senior Bird Zookeeper at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park for 8 years working with some of the most endangered birds in the world and several conservation programs. We moved to San Antonio in 2005 and I became the Bird Department Manager for the San Antonio Zoo for another 9 years, managing 25 staff members, conservation programs, the third largest bird collection in the U.S., and the exhibits they were housed in. My strong attention to detail and ability to negotiate to get results, notice issues quickly, and manage many time-sensitive projects at once carries over to my work as an agent for the home sellers and buyers I work with.
