A San Antonio native, Randy Crider left after graduating from Tom C. Clark High School to fulfill his appointment to the United States Merchant Marine Academy in New York. After completing his engineering undergraduate degree, he attained his engineering license under the USCG issuing authority and received a commission in the United States Navy Reserve. He was employed as a mechanical engineer for the Department of the Navy for several years, designing and converting naval vessels. Randy transitioned into a seagoing career on the last vessel he constructed and worked his way up from Third Assistant Engineer to the Department Head Chief Engineer, raising his USCG license in the process to operate any ocean-going vessel—steam, diesel, or gas turbine—with an unlimited horsepower rating as Chief Engineer. He maintained continuous education throughout the years and acquired numerous accreditations for technical and managerial skills. He completed his Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2003 at Colorado State University. An avid real estate investor since 1998, he has felt the call of family life overcome the call of the sea. He and his wife currently manage numerous investment properties in the region and now offer full representation to buyers and sellers.
