One of the greatest benefits of living in San Antonio is the variety of “things” to see and do. - 1. Light Up the Night
Holiday season is upon us! Get in the spirit this weekend with Incarnate Word’s Light the Way event! The evening consists of the ceremonial lighting of one million Christmas lights, fireworks in celebration of the season, and music to set the atmosphere. It’s the perfect way to kick off the holiday season and to light up the night. This tradition is a fun one for the entire family and after the lights go on, take the time to walk the beautiful campus and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate as you take in the twinkling lights.

- 2. Adopt a Pet!
Looking to add a new member to your family? Adopt-A-Pet Day gives you the perfect opportunity to welcome a new pet into your family, just in time for the holidays! There are so many pets in need of a good home, and you could make a huge difference by adopting a furry friend. During this special day, when you adopt, you’ll be given a free bag of pet food. Animal Care Services will be there to make sure your new pet has shots, and they can help to answer any questions that you may have. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to save a life!

This organization is made up of innovative thinkers and holds plenty of mentor figures to help you find your way in the business world. - 4. Go Back In Time
Go back in time this weekend and experience England as it was in Shakespeare’s time with Shakespeare in the Park: Renaissance on the River. The day consists of Renaissance activities such as magicians, fire-eaters, swordsmen, jugglers, dancers, singers, and more. Everyone will be dressed in traditional Renaissance clothing to help set the atmosphere. Later, head over to the Arneson River Theatre for a production of “Twelfth Night.” This free show is done by the Arkansas Shakespeare Company and is award-winning! Come for free or donate to benefit The Magik Theatre. Enjoy the day as you travel back in time and live as Shakespeare would have!

- 5. Channel Your Inner Warrior
Get ready for the Alpha Warrior Fitness Challenge! This fun fitness challenge will have you racing, climbing, jumping, and crawling in multiple levels of obstacle courses. Known as an “adult jungle gym,” the course utilizes core strength and endurance to see which participant can last! With an objective to finish the course (100%), you can team up or keep it as an individual competition. Take it seriously because there’s a cash prize for the winner of the challenge! Put on your workout gear and get ready to be challenged!

Yoga and zumba will be offered in the morning so that you can still get your exercise in before you shop. This is the first annual Holiday Market, and it’s due to be a tradition in the years to come! It’s an educational, fun experience that offers the chance to learn something new and explore!

Rockvember Fest is a celebration of so many different things! It’s a fabulous concert featuring original artists like The Suss, Celeste’al Descent, and other groups will showcase their amazing talents in the music industry. - 10. Walk and Remember
Join in for the Walk of Silence as San Antonio residents join together, walking to pay tribute to those who have been killed or injured on the world’s roads. The World Day of Remembrance for Traffic Victims is an initiative to be mindful and remember those who have been hurt by careless accidents. This global event showcases the importance of abiding traffic laws and regulations, and also honors the memories of those who have suffered. You are welcome to bring a photo or flowers to pay homage to those who have been victims of roadway accidents. Come out and walk the course to honor this global day of remembrance.
