One of the greatest benefits of living in San Antonio is the variety of “things” to see and do. In fact, there are so many San Antonio attractions and events on any given weekend that it can seem overwhelming to choose just one. In this series all pressure is off! - 1. Find Your Inner Mathematician
School may be out for the summer but that doesn’t mean that you can’t exercise your child’s brain! Take advantage of a new exhibit at the DoSeum this weekend: Mathletics. It combines math and exercise so that your child can learn about various mathematical concepts (like scale and proportion) while they are outside, moving around. A bonus to this exhibit is that the kids who succeed in the math challenges will have the opportunity to participate in the Do’Lympics! Don’t miss out on this fun, educational opportunity.

- 2. Get Your Fashion Fix
If you’re a shop-a-holic, fashionista, or just appreciate good style, this event has your name written all over it! Fashion Week San Antonio is here for a three-day event July 8-10. Come see looks from different fashion retailers and experience the trends as you watch models walk the runway. This event is meant to not only inspire you with your wardrobe, but also has pop-up shows and booths for those who want to buy clothes at a discounted price. Stay on trend this year with a front-row seat to one of the many fashion shows occurring through the entire weekend. You’ll leave the venue as a stylish fashion trendsetter.

- 3. Drink Wine for Wieners
Partake in a glass of wine for a good cause! The Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is throwing a charity event called Unwind For Wiener Dogs. Taste wine from Hill Country Wineries and enjoy a silent auction, appetizers, and door prizes! Proceeds from the event go to rescuing dachshunds in need. Don’t forget to get your ticket in advance so that you can ensure your spot in this fun charity event. Wine for a good cause is hard to say no to!

- 4. Guffaw with Gaffigan
Come see Grammy nominated and crowd-favorite comedian, Jim Gaffigan this weekend in his Fully Dressed Tour. Gaffigan currently has his own TV show and his own book out, each of them touching on elements of his hilarious real life. His comedy is widely known and often times deals with life scenarios that everyone can relate to, like food, kids, and work. We promise that you’ll be laughing out loud with this comedy tour because Gaffigan definitely delivers!

5. Experience Timeless Creations
Celebrate the Cactus Pear Music Festival’s 20th Anniversary season with an outstanding classical music concert, featuring twenty world-class artists and musicians. Various instruments will be featured for this concert, contributing to a concert of variety. San Antonio Symphony artists will be present, as well as the famous pianist Ryo Yanagitani and violist Ara Gregorian. San Antonio’s public libraries are highly underrated and overlooked. Check out a good book this weekend at one of the newest libraries, Parman Branch Library at Wilderness Oak. Not only does the library have countless books for adults and children, but they also house DVDs, CDs, a fabulous park, and walking trails. Beat the heat by grabbing a few books and settling in for an afternoon of reading.

- 10. Go Batty!
Get ready for an awesome experience in nature! The Bracken Bat Flight is a special event that only takes place during a limited amount of time. Come and see millions of free-tailed bats emerge from Bracken Cave and fly high in the sky as they search for insects. This amazing experience is even better this year because of the heavy rains San Antonio received, thus creating plenty of food opportunities for the bats! Get ready to be awestruck by these incredible creatures!
