One of San Antonio’s greatest upsides is the variety of “things” to see and do at any given time. This holiday week is no exception as a variety of different events take place in and around the city. No effort is needed, ten of the best fun things to do in San Antonio this week are already described below. Hopefully, this list will make researching for this weekend’s Friday celebration, date night, or family outing a little more simple.

1. Catch a Show with Mannheim Steamroller

Mixing rock and roll with holiday cheer, Manheim Steamroller is one of the most recognizable bands on the radio throughout the Christmas season. The Majestic Theatre provides the perfect backdrop for a show that is bound to be equal parts entertaining and awe-inspiring. Mannheim Steamroller released their first Christmas album 31 years ago, jump starting a generational shift in the holiday music category. Since that time the public perception of what constitutes Christmas music has shifted to allow new classics and new genres to take part, thanks in large part to Mannheim Steamroller!

Since 1996 The Moscow Ballet has performed the Great Russian Nutcracker at various locations throughout the United States. This year, San Antonio is fortunate to host the ballet in the middle of the holidays. While most have seen The Nutcracker, few have seen it as presented by The Moscow Ballet. The ballet features incredible dancers making for an outstanding production. In addition, the second act of the Great Russian Nutcracker is actually completely different than that of the traditional Nutcracker. In the Russian version, the second act features a trip to the Land of Peace and Harmony instead of a visit to the Sugar Plum Fairy, providing a hopeful take on our world. Don’t miss out on a show sure to be one of a kind!

When: Sunday at 1pm and 5pm.

Where: Majestic Theatre, 224 E Houston St, San Antonio
