Considering a Magnet School for Your High Schooler: Agriscience Magnet Program

If you have a family, one of the most important aspects of moving is finding a new school district!

If this is the case, you may be interested in a magnet school. Often located at public schools, these magnet programs provide quality, targeted education in a specific field of study. If your child is talented in the arts, science, leadership, or any other field, a specialized magnet school can help hone those skills at an early age.

Magnet School Spotlight: Agriscience Magnet Program (AMP)

NEISD’s Agriscience Magnet Program ( located at James Madison High School) teaches a curriculum focused on both theory and skill. AMP’s mission is to educate students through community engagement, hands-on experience, and excellent classroom academics. Students don’t only receive excellent lecture instruction, but also access to AMP’s incredible agricultural facilities, which include an aquaculture center, rooftop gardens, 4 barns and project centers, and more. The $24.5 million dollar facility is also incredibly eco-friendly, even featuring a rainwater harvesting system. AMP offers six majors in agriculture including animal science, environmental science, agriculture communications, mechanized agriculture, and agribusiness marketing, etc.
