As a group of San Antonio experts, we’ve curated a list of events worth checking out in the San Antonio area. From festivals to museum exhibits to foodie events, here are 10 things to do in San Antonio in June!

1. Go On A Scavenger Hunt

Looking for a fun date activity or girls’ day out? This month, the folks at the San Antonio Botanical Garden are challenging guests to hunt down the ingredients in their drinks as part of their Cocktail Scavenger Hunt: Death By Chocolate edition. Teams will find ingredients growing in the Garden, snap pics of them, and trade the pics for delicious cocktails (plus a pretty sweet four-course tasting menu featuring chocolate in every recipe).

Where: San Antonio Botanical Garden (555 Funston Pl)

2. Catch A Movie On The Lawn

Make the most of these Texas summer nights: grab a blanket, rustle up some picnic snacks (Whataburger, anyone?), and head down to Travis Park for their summer movie series “Movies By Moonlight.” Admission is free, and so is parking (at any city-owned meter, lot, or garage after 5:00 PM on Tuesdays)!

When: June 11, 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Where: Travis Park (301 E Travis St)

3. Show Your Pride

Join friends and family at Crockett Park for a day of food, music, drinks, entertainment, and one of the best parties in town! The Pride Bigger Than Texas Festival will feature big voices like Patsy Torres and the Bidi Bidi Banda (Austin’s best Selena cover band). Be sure to stick around for the Running of the Queens High Heel Race at 8:45 PM, followed by the Pride Parade at 9:00 PM!

4. Enjoy A Meal Under The Stars

Let the big Texas sky be your canopy while you dine on a bounty of locally sourced foods prepared by local celebrity chefs! Chef Teddy Liang and Chef Dave Terrazas will be presenting a “Texas To Table” culinary experience amid the stunning flora and fauna of the San Antonio Botanical Garden’s Lucile Halsell Conservatory. The evening includes a cocktail hour, an extensive sit-down menu with exquisite wine pairings, education on the meal source and preparation, and after-dinner coffee. The San Antonio duo Wasted Talent will infuse the air with gentle melodies and round out this perfect evening.

When: June 8, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Where: San Antonio Botanical Garden (555 Funston Pl)

5. Dance the Night Away

Nothing heats up a summer night like a little samba or cumbia. Come dance the night away as Bailamos presents a celebration of Latin music and dance at The Rustic. A live DJ will be spinning all the old-school hits and modern favorites, and there will even be a costume contest for folks who come dressed in their inspired attire. Just don’t be surprised if you’re not the only Selena!

6. Put The “Art” In Party

Fun fact: the San Antonio Museum of Art resides in what was once one of Texas’ first big breweries! To celebrate the building’s history, the museum is throwing a one-of-a-kind Art Party: Art On Tap featuring live music by the Elijah Zane Band, tasty bites from Magnolia Pancake Haus, a cash bar, and themed tours.

Where: San Antonio Museum of Art (200 W Jones Ave)

7. Enjoy A Spot Of Tea

Ever wish you could be like The Royal Family and sip on afternoon tea at a glamorous garden party? Well, you don’t need to be royalty to be glamorous! Dig out your garden party best and tilt your hat at its most becoming angle, because The Witte Museum is hosting an utterly elegant Whimsical Garden Tea. Guests will enjoy high tea classics, mimosas, and wine while exploring the museum’s premier exhibit, The Art Of Texas: 250 Years. Proceeds from the event directly support the Free Tuesday initiative.
