As a group of San Antonio experts, we’ve curated a list of events worth checking out in the San Antonio area. Take time to read and explore all of the many options for the month of June!
1. Experience the Texas Folklife Festival

Be loud with your Texas pride for a weekend in June as UTSA celebrates the Texas Folklife Festival. For three days, experience the Lone Star State’s diversity and rich heritage by way of food, music, dance, arts, and more. 2. See a Tony-Award-Winning Play
The Majestic Theatre is playing host to the new Tony-award winning musical “An American in Paris” for a whole week this month! Based on the film starring Gene Kelly, this show is about an American soldier, a French debutante, and the city that brings them together during the aftermath of a war. According to The New York Times, “An American in Paris is a triumph! Pure joy!” (Grab your tickets here.)

3. See Bill Clinton’s Book Tour
Former President Bill Clinton is on tour to promote his new book “The President is Missing” and will be speaking at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, June 11. A unique collaboration with legendary author James Patterson, this book marks the first time a president has collaborated with a famed novelist on a fiction novel. Filled with details only a president could know, this book is a perfect summer read. Former President Clinton and Mr. Patterson will answer questions about the research of the book and the project as a whole.

4. Stretch Out With Some Yoga
Warriors of life unite! The Riverwalk is hosting its 4th International Day of Yoga Festival on June 9th. This conference is free for all ages and levels and is designed to teach people about mindfulness, wellness, and the benefits of adding yoga to your life. Check out the website for more info!

5. Follow the Yellow Brick Road
Looking for a fun family event to cool down in the evenings this summer? The Woodlawn Theatre is putting on The Wizard of Oz this summer! Bring the whole family along to see this classic tale come to life. Tickets are available here.

6. Find Out How Mummies are Made
Have you seen the early 2000’s Mummy movies and think to yourself, “I wonder how those guys become mummies?” The San Antonio Museum of Art is hosting a night filled with the gory details behind the mummification process and meanings in ancient Egyptian history. Creepy fun for the whole family!

7. Catch Maroon 5 Perform Live
Maroon 5 is in town and ready to show you their “moves like Jagger.” The AT&T Center acquires some amazing acts for San Antonio residents to enjoy, and this summer is no exception. Get your tickets for the multi-platinum pop-rock act today!

8. Go for a Day at the Zoo
Make a plan this summer to head to the San Antonio Zoo and see the “Zoorassic Park” exhibit with the whole family. Over a dozen prehistoric creatures will be in the zoo to help you learn about extinction and how it can affect the animals that currently inhabit the Earth. The event is included with standard admission!

9. Explore the Deep Ocean
Life on Earth relies on the ocean, and yet we have only explored about 5% of it. This month, the DoSeum is hosting a Deep Ocean education day with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Learn about what goes on in the deep ocean and why and how we explore new areas. Space is limited, so register now!

10. Eat, Drink, and Party!
