One of the greatest benefits of living in San Antonio is the variety of “things” to see and do. 1. Watch an Array of Latin Films
The San Antonio Cine Festival is the country’s longest-running Latino film festival. The event features guest appearances by celebrities, screenings of the films, Q&A sessions, and even a script-writing workshop presented by the Sundance Institute. You can purchase a multiple-pass for $60, as well as individual screening passes. The festival will feature over sixty unique films!

2. Remember the Alamo!

The Alamo is celebrating 181 years since its historical siege and battle! In celebration, the iconic monument is offering the public special chances to interact with its rich history through specific events like “An Evening With Heroes” and a fiddle fest! These free events allow you to learn more about both San Antonio and the history of the Alamo. Some events will be in both English and Spanish, giving you the perfect opportunity to embrace the culture of our great city.

3. Experience Elvis Live
" Elvis Live" is a phenomenal tribute to the unforgettable legend of Elvis himself. Complete with a live band, this production takes you on a live musical rendition of Elvis’s memorable journey to fame. 4. Get Some Fresh Air
Looking for a unique event? Fresh Air Friday is a public outreach event that promises to give you information on air quality and sustainability in San Antonio. There will be several exhibits, pamphlets, and promotional items to help you understand more about this subject. Green businesses and nonprofit organizations will highlight ways that you can save money and contribute to a healthier city with unpolluted air. Food trucks will be on-site to provide you with delicious snacks as you learn more about sustainability!

5. Discover the Local Wildlife
The Botanical Gardens will host their monthly bird walk on March 18th. Attendees can watch for birds, learn more about the different native species found in the city, walk around the garden trails, and identify the plants and animals. A guide will be present to help you identify different species! As the weather is starting to bloom into Spring, it’s the perfect time to get outside and observe nature as much as you can.

6. Experience Monarch Fest
It’s Monarch butterfly season! In celebration, the San Antonio Zoo is launching a two-day event that celebrates all things monarch butterflies. This family event allows you to participate in games and crafts to learn more about the beautiful species. Receive free milkweed seeds and nectar seeds to assist in raising the monarch population and find out how you can help to keep these beautiful creatures on earth!

7. Go to the Grand Opening
Did you know the beloved Witte Museum has recently undergone a transformation? The new renovated Witte will open its doors to visitors on March 4th, offering an exclusive look at the expansion, new exhibits, and fresh architecture. This 90-year old museum is an emblem of San Antonio...and now it’s better than ever! Just in time for warmer weather, the Witte Museum will start the season off with a fantastic exhibit on dinosaurs. 9. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day…San Antonio style! On March 17, the River Walk will be transformed via green dye in honor of the Irish holiday. The weekend event will feature booths and shops along the River Walk, and Murphy’s River Parade will take place on March 18th. The fanfare will include drummers, Irish dancers, singers, and bagpipes! You won’t want to miss out on the spirited festivities on this lucky day.

23. Try Your Hand at Aviation

You can finally experience what it would be like to fly with the Witte’s new event “Above and Beyond.” Fly a supersonic jet, navigate through a hurricane, and experience a space elevator with this amazing exhibition that allows you to interact, learn, and see aerospace innovation. The exhibit is filled with amazing facts and artifacts that bring the experience to life, allowing you to feel like you’re interacting as a pilot. Luckily, this is an event that won’t be leaving town until May, so you have plenty of time to make your way to the Witte.

24. See the Collection of French Moderns
The new exhibit at the McNay gives you art from the French Moderns: From Monet to Matisse. There will be a showcase of more than sixty-five works of art from the Brooklyn Museum. The focus is on France from the mid-nineteenth to mid-twentieth centuries. While the subject matter may vary, the technique and focus of the works are extraordinary. Many of the pieces helped to define the expectation for this particular genre of art. If you don’t have time to make it over there this month, it will continue until June 4.

25. Experience Classic Ballet Music
Composed by Prokofiev, the classic ballet of Cinderella offers a dynamic arrangement of music that has inspired multiple adaptations of the classic story.
