One of the greatest benefits of living in San Antonio is the variety of “things” to see and do. In fact, there are so many San Antonio attractions and events on any given weekend that it can seem overwhelming to choose just one. In this series all pressure is off! Ten fun things to do in San Antonio will be chosen each week to make researching for the next Friday celebration, date night, or family outing a little more simple.

If you love Motown music from legends like Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, and Marvin Gaye, then get ready for a treat this weekend! Motown the Musical is here in San Antonio touring and it is a show-stopping performance that will have audience members wanting to dance and sing along to classic songs that influenced the memorable genre. Inspired by the true stories behind each unique artist, this musical is rich with history and offers an incredible experience that you won’t forget!

- 2. Celebrate Mom’s Beauty
It’s Mother’s Day Weekend! Take some time to celebrate your mother’s inner and outer beauty this weekend with the “Beautiful Within” Fashion Show. The fashion show will feature beautiful clothes on display for you and your mother to enjoy during the afternoon. The purpose of the event is to inspire, uplift, and empower women of all ages and backgrounds. The show hopes to encourage women in all their endeavors and to provide helpful tools to contribute toward success. Honor your mom this weekend through this fun and unique event!

- 3. Test Your Taste Buds with Tacos!
San Antonio is back at it with the food trucks again! This time, it’s the Twisted Taco Truck Throwdown and you’ll definitely want to mark this on your calendar. The free event features over twenty different food trucks, all competing to serve you the best taco. You help to decide the winner by texting in your vote during the event. If you ever wanted input in who has the tastiest taco, now is your chance! Tacos are only $1 to ensure that you are able to taste multiple without cleaning out your wallet.

- 4. Make Your House a Home
Even if you aren’t a homeowner, this event still has something in store for you. Come shop the House to Home Market this Saturday and find the perfect addition to your living space. Items will range from antique pieces of furniture to handmade jewelry. This free event is sure to have a wide variety of items and you are bound to find something that has to go home with you. Located in the beautiful grounds of Los Patios (near the Salado Creek), this event will be enjoyable in the outdoors and allows you to have a leisurely morning or afternoon of shopping.

- 5. Go Over the Edge…
Take part of a new adventure! Over the Edge is a fundraiser that raises money for Junior Achievement, an organization that is dedicated to preparing students for the workforce and educating them on finances and economics. You can sign up to be a participant in the challenge, which allows you to rappel down the side of the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel downtown! You do not have to have experience or training for rappelling but there will be a certified specialist who will guide you and prepare you for everything before you begin. Donate to a good cause and help out this wonderful organization!

- 6. Savor and Enjoy the Arts
You are invited to come and enjoy the arts with the Savor the Arts 2016 fundraiser. The event benefits the Young Artist Programs of the Southwest School of Art. Not only will you have the chance to view beautiful artwork, but you will also get to experience culinary creations by some of San Antonio’s best-known chefs. There will be a DJ and dancing to top it off and all of the proceeds benefit the Young Artist Programs. Various exhibitions will be showcased during the evenings events.

- 7. Experience Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin is still known to be a music icon, even today. Get excited for this concert experience, which will allow you to listen to music from Jason Bonham as he recreates some of the best songs of Led Zeppelin. The show is downtown at the Aztec Theater and promises excitement for all fans. Tickets are on sale now but they are going fast. You’ll want to get yours ahead of time for this memorable event!

- 8. Hunt Down Your Favorite Beer
Join the fun as San Antonioans partake on the Urban Beer Hunt downtown! This event is a fun mixture of a scavenger hunt and a race and teams will cover about four to six miles as they solve the clues that are texted out along the journey. Along the journey, there will be “Beer Checkpoints” leading you to the finish line and the cash prize that awaits. The race promises to be a fun afternoon that will allow you to work with a team, taste new beers, and solve puzzles along the way. You still have time to sign up and create a team so act fast!

- 9. Enjoy the Spirit of Brackenridge Park
The Brackenridge Park Conservancy is holding the Spirit of Brackenridge Park even this weekend! The event benefits the park and allows guests to ride the park train and enjoy three different stops, each one equipped with appetizers for guests to enjoy. At the final stop, take some time to enjoy wonderful music underneath the oak trees. Picnic tables with food will be available and it is bound to be a lovely evening. Enjoy a walk through the park as the sun sets and help the park in the process. Please take some time to reserve your ticket in advance since it is a fundraiser event.

- 10. Celebrate Nao!
Can you believe it’s been ten years since restaurants at the Pearl have been in business? To commemorate this feat, Nao, a Latin restaurant and bar, is celebrating their decade with the Culinary Institute of America through a six-course meal. Each course will be prepped by one of the CIA chefs with a fixed price of $100 per person.
