Looking for an activity to keep your little ones busy? Villa Finale is hosting a compost-building workshop where kids can actually build their own compost using live worms. Children will have a guide to teach them the importance of worms in nature and their role in the compost. At the end of the workshop, kids can take home their product! This is a great, educational activity that mixes fun with learning! Supplies will be provided, as well as water and a special treat.

- 4. Be a Cowboy for the Day
Head over to The Briscoe Western Art Museum to celebrate National Day of the Cowboy! As always, no painting experience is required since an instructor can guide you step-by-step; however, you are more than willing to add your own flare to the painting. - 8. Grab A Cocktail
If you’re a cocktail connoisseur, get ready for Cocktail: The Event, happening right here in town. This is the fourth year for Coctail and it celebrates and recognizes twenty of San Antonio’s best cocktail bars and the drinks they specialize in. This year’s theme? 1980s “Age of Excess”. As a guest, you’ll get to enjoy numerous cocktails and appetizers, dance to all of your favorite 80s songs, and wear your best 80s outfit. A portion of the ticket proceeds will be going to a local nonprofit charity to benefit organizations in town. Get your ticket for this exciting event and get ready to try some new cocktails!

- 9. Spend an Evening at the Theatre
Known as “The Celestials”, Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne are a forgotten couple of Broadway, known for their dynamic relationship and offstage battles. Apparently, the couple fought constantly and rivaled each other in many ways. While this couple may not be widely known today, The Classic Theatre is breathing new life into their story with the play “The Celestials of Broadway”. The play explores their careers, their lives, and their relationships while still giving you a taste of what good theatre looks like. You’re in for a great show with this one!

- 10. Experience a Vintage Carnival
The McNay’s current exhibit Coney Island: Visions of an American Dreamland has been going on for several weeks now. If you haven’t had the chance to view the pieces, now is the time! This Sunday, the McNay is opening its doors to families for a free afternoon of a “Coney Island” themed carnival atmosphere! You’ll have the chance to see the actual art; however, you’ll also get to see circus performers and participate in art activities! It’s perfect for little ones who may want other forms of activity, rather than just the exhibition. This carnival will have a vintage feel to it, making it truly unique and special.
