Keller Williams Heritage will be hosting their 5th annual Margarita Madness event on Friday, May 5, 2017. The event, sponsored by Keller Williams, alongside many local lenders, title reps, law firms, builders, and partner providers, will benefit KW’s in-house charity, Agents Helping Agents (AHA). The brokerage has raised nearly $200 thousand in the past four years, all of which was given back to agents in need, all in the form of grants. Additionally, a portion of this year’s funds will be donated to Children’s Cancer Research.
"Margarita Madness is an event that so many of us look forward to,” said Ana Frias, former president of AHA. “It gives us the opportunity to come together as agents, as friends, as family, and as co-workers in support of those who need help. At the end of the day we are all in this together. This is just another way to not only help each other out, but to raise awareness for the organization (AHA) that means so much to all of us."
San Antonio and surrounding community members are invited to purchase tickets for the event, which will be held in the Keller Williams Heritage Office parking lot, located off Loop 1604, just off Bitters Road. Tickets for the event are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, children under 12 are free. All attendees will receive a wristband giving them access to unlimited margarita tasting, BBQ, entertainment by a live band, and refreshments.
“This is our fifth year hosting Margarita Madness and we continue to be impressed with the turn out we get year after year,” said Gina Wilkes, president of AHA. “When we organized this event for an agent who was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago, we could only hope it would become as big as it is today.” Last year an estimated 500 people came to the event and this year attendance is expected to exceed 650.
Proceeds from previous years have impacted numerous families, with last year’s proceeds alone helping over a dozen families. Additionally, as a result of the popularity of the event, donation commitments by the agents of the brokerage have increased four times the amount they were prior to 2012 when the event began.
“The results of this event are truly heartfelt,” notes Wilkes. “These agents (in need) come to the company anonymously, and with the help of the sponsors and the generosity of everyone involved the resounding feeling of giving back is felt by all. ”
Margarita Madness starts at 5:00 and runs until 9 PM, with set up beginning prior to the event. Throughout the event, participants are invited to purchase raffle tickets for various prizes, including a Samsung 60” LCD/LED Smart TV and a weekend golf trip to Arizona, as well as bid on auction items available through a silent auction. Raffle tickets sell for $5 each, or $20 for five.If you would like to donate to the event but are unable to attend, AHA invites you to donate online.
